Camping Adventure Group Tour
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made and confirmed by us, in writing (e-mail for instance), in conformity with business practices of Local Friends.
Local Friends Iceland receives the rights to keep 5% of the total booking amount after a booking has been made. This will cover the transaction and booking fees for the booking. Otherwise, cancellation fees are based upon date and time of the booking. Please find the cancellation deadline as follows:
Customer cancellations:
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the booking receive 95%refund.
Cancellations made more than 90 days before the trip date are eligible for a 70% refund for the trip price.
Cancellations made 45-90 days before the tour date will receive a 50% refund. This includes bookings made 45-90 days to departure.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 45 days of the tour date. This includes bookings made less than 45 days to departure.
“No shows” will not be refunded, neither do we refund if the client is late.
No exceptions are made to our cancellation policy for any reason, including neither personal or medical, weather or other forces of nature, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, international or internal (domestic) flight cancellations, nor any other reason beyond our control.
Company cancellations:
In rare cases, tours may be canceled due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. If we cancel the tour, a full refund will be provided.
Organized group tours: In case of insufficient enrolment in this joint group tour, Local Friends may cancel the trip.
If the trip is canceled due to insufficient participant numbers, Local Friends will notify all registered participants right away regarding the cancellation via email or phone call. If we cancel the tour, a full refund will be provided. We will let participants know when the tour is confirmed and they can go ahead and book flights and hotels.
Participants will be provided with a full refund of any payments made towards the trip, excluding non-refundable expenses incurred by participants, such as airline tickets, visa fees, or other third-party costs.
Local Friends regrets any inconvenience or disappointment this cancellation may cause and will make reasonable efforts to assist participants in finding alternative trip options or rescheduling for a later date, subject to availability.
NOTE ! Add-on tour activities provided by third party service providers (snowmobile, atv, Blue Lagoon, diving, snorkeling, etc) have different cancellation policy. So please check with us.

Private Tours
Tour Departure / Pick Up / Drop-Off Service
Pick-Up: We offer pick-up and drop-off services at an agreed-upon location.
Timing: Please be ready at the pick-up location at the agreed time. If you are delayed, contact us immediately via phone call and we will do our best to accommodate the change.
If a passenger has not arrived 15 minutes after the decided time and we have not been informed of any delays via phone call, the driver-guide has the right to leave and it will be considered as a ‘no show’.
In case of a no show, the service will be canceled and payment forfeited.
Delays: We are not responsible for delays caused by unforeseen circumstances such as weather, traffic, or other external factors.

Northern lights tours
The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed even if the tour is operated. We decide after 17:00 every day if conditions are favorable to operate the tour. We will contact you by phone or email if we will go ahead with the tour, but you can also call us on the day you are booked. If you book a Northern Lights Tour, but conditions do not allow us to run the tour during your stay, you will receive a 100% refund.

Liability
Activities and Itineraries: Some tours involve outdoor activities that may have inherent risks (hiking, glacier walks, ATV etc.). Local Friends cannot be held liable for accidents, injuries, or damages caused during the tours.
Every passenger booked on our tour is there entirely at their own risk.
Third-Party Services: We are not responsible for anything that may happen during services or activities provided by third parties.
Personal Responsibilities: Guests are responsible for ensuring they are physically capable of participating in the activities. It is important to follow the guide’s instructions for safety reasons.
Local Friends staff will not be liable for any damage, loss, theft, injury, accident, illness or death suffered by any person, however caused during our tour or excursion of any kind.
Insurance
Personal Travel Insurance: Local Friends does not provide the attendee with insurance of any kind. We highly recommend that all guests obtain personal travel insurance to cover any unexpected circumstances such as medical emergencies, accidents, cancellations etc.
Vehicle and Liability Insurance: Our vehicles are insured, and we have the necessary driver’s liability insurance as required by the Icelandic law.
Local Friends staff will not be liable for any damage, loss, theft, injury, accident, illness or death suffered by any person, however caused during our tour or excursion of any kind.
Payment Policies
Payment Methods: We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and online payments through secure platforms.
Booking Confirmation: Your booking is confirmed once full payment deposit (as stated in your booking) has been received.
Currency: All payments are processed in Icelandic Krona (ISK) and include 11% VAT. Conversion fees may apply depending on your payment method and currency. Local Friends is not responsible for any changes in currency exchange rates that might occur from the time of booking until a refund is made.
Refund Policy
Refunds: Refunds will be issued as per the cancellation policy outlined above. Any processing fees or bank charges related to refunds will be deducted from the total amount.
No-Show Policy: Failure to show up for the tour at the agreed time and place will result in a forfeiture of the full tour price
Changes to Bookings
Customer-Initiated Changes: Changes to the tour (date, time, itinerary) must be in communication with us.. We will do our best to accommodate, but changes are subject to availability.
Company-Initiated Changes: We reserve the right to make minor adjustments to the itinerary due to weather conditions or unforeseen events, always prioritizing your safety and experience.
Legal
Local Friends Iceland is registered in Iceland as Local Friends Iceland ehf. Local Friends operates under Icelandic laws and regulations.
Jurisdiction: These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Iceland. Any disputes arising will be resolved in Icelandic courts.
Force Majeure: Local Friends Iceland is not liable for delays, cancellations, or disruptions caused by events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or governmental restrictions.
Privacy: We respect your privacy and will only collect and use your personal information for booking and tour purposes. We will not share your information with third parties without your consent.
